I do and do not recommend short reach shifters. They have the tendence to not disengage the clutch all the way. THis leads to more clutch problems. The truth is you need all the room you have to pull the clutch in. YOu could possibly bend it a little. That is what I would suggest. I have seen many of the aftermarket shifters not work well with factory stuff. Especially if you plan to ride a little ruff on it.
